West London removals, packing and transport

Export Packing vs Normal Moving Protection

The practical difference between protection for a local move and packing for shipping or repeated handling.

For a direct local move, furniture may be wrapped and covered, loaded once, secured in the vehicle and unloaded by the same team. Exported goods can pass through several depots, vehicles and handling crews. They may spend far longer in storage or transit.

That changes the job. Export packing often uses more layers, reinforced cartons, firmer edge protection and tighter control of movement inside each package. The item should be protected even when the person lifting it knows nothing about what is inside.

When should you ask for export packing?

Consider it for fragile or valuable goods travelling overseas, furniture being shipped in a shared container, artwork, mirrors, antiques or any consignment likely to be handled repeatedly.

Your shipping provider may have rules about permitted materials, labelling or timber packaging. Share those requirements before packing begins. It is much easier to build the correct pack once than to open and redo it at the depot.
