A nationwide move has less room for improvisation. On a local job, a forgotten plant or extra box is inconvenient. When the destination is four hours away, it can become expensive.
Confirm the volume carefully
A video survey is useful, but open cupboards and include the garage, shed, loft and garden. These areas often contain more than customers expect. Mention anything being sold or disposed of so it is not included by mistake.
Plan access at both ends
Parking arrangements in West London may involve permits, time restrictions or a long carry. At the new property, check when keys are released and whether the vehicle can wait nearby. If completion timings are uncertain, discuss a contingency before the day.
Pack for the distance
Items spend longer in the vehicle and the route may include rougher roads. Boxes should be full enough not to collapse, furniture needs proper protection and the load must be secured so it cannot settle and move.
Keep documents, medication, chargers and overnight essentials with you. If the removal van is delayed by traffic, you should still have what you need for the first night.
